JOY PETRO, Ex-Officio Layton City Liaison

Joy Petro has lived in Layton most of her life. She lives in the Gentile Street historical home she restored, receiving the State of Utah Excellence in Preservation award. She current serves on the Layton City Council and is appointed as the liaison for the Davis Arts Council and a volunteer.

She is also active in the Davis Chamber of Commerce, Layton Rotary Club, Military Affairs Committee, Fire Corp and the new Layton RAMP Commission.

Joy attended Layton schools and college at Weber State University. She served as Chairman for the Layton Heritage Museum, Area Coordinator for the city’s Emergency Preparedness program, 2002 Olympic volunteer, PTA, Make-A-Wish, Native American scholarships and recipient of the Ronald Regan Community Award.

She collects antiques, cars and restores homes. She is active in several different sports and is a diehard yard sale and auction enthusiast.

Joy believes it is important to preserve Layton’s rich and growing heritage, its farming roots, while balancing the future needs and culture entertainment of our dynamic community.
