About Laurie Patillo:
I was born and raised in Layton, Utah and I was always interested in arts and crafts. I managed a craft store and taught arts and crafts at Central Davis Jr. High.
I didn’t start painting until 10 years ago when my daughter asked if I would paint a couple of pieces for her new office. While working on that project, I dreamt that my tomatoes would grow better if they were surrounded by whales. I painted whales on the fence around my garden and that was the stary of my painting as well as the best tomatoes I had ever grown.
I have painted murals, furniture, benches, old milk cans, and electrical boxes. I connect with horses, but will tackle any subject in my paintings. Large paintings and murals are my favorite. I still love arts and crafts, but painting is my passion.
