The Celebration Chamber Orchestra, formed in 1992, is currently sponsored by Layton City. The group has performed for many local events, including Christmas on Temple Square, Festival of Trees, Brigham Young Historical Park Concert Series, and the televised Pearl Awards. Other performances include: the Utah State Fair, Davis County Fair, several assisted living centers, and an annual Messiah Sing-in each December at the historic Kaysville Tabernacle. The Orchestra is conducted by Robert Bott and made up of players from along the Wasatch Front. This evening, they will perform a potpourri of pops and patriotic music.
Opening for the Chamber Orchestra is Gordon Johnson: writer, producer, director, actor, and singer. He has appeared in approximately 100 stage productions and in local, regional, and national television commercials, feature movies, and network television programs. Gordon takes us down memory lane with songs made popular by Al Jolson, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and more.
