Flautissimo is a symphonic flute ensemble of flutists from along the northern Wasatch Front. They have performed together for eight years in venues such as the LDS Conference Center, the University of Utah, Weber State University, and Egyptian Theater. They have been invited as guest performers for the Utah Flute Association, the annual National Flute Association Convention, and the New American Philharmonic. Other performances include the Temple Square Concert Series, the Ogden Summer Series, and the Kaysville Nativity Celebration. Their varied repertoire includes music from Bach to Rogers and Hammerstein. The members of Flautissimo are conducted by Lorinda Atwater, currently principal flutist with the New American Philharmonic.

Davis Master Chorale

In 1996 The Davis Master Chorale began to provide music at the annual Kaysville \ Fruit Heights patriotic devotional. It has since grown to a community choir focused on providing the opportunity for all who desire to experience the joy of singing great music. The non-auditioned choir performs regularly on Temple Square and in various locations throughout Davis County. Music selections range from simple folk tunes to major choral works such as Brahms Requiem and others.

Jim Johnson has been the musical director for the last ten years. He was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and performed with the Utah Opera during their first four years as a chorus member and soloist. He joined the Chorale to keep singing and somehow ended up as musical director. Christy Canfield has been the accompanist almost from the beginning. She is a sought after accompanist for many local performers. She is also an elementary school teacher in the Davis School District. The Chorale has performed many benefit concerts including this years’ benefit for Safe Harbor. It has also given out music scholarships to a deserving Davis County student for each of the last five years.

This year’s summer concert includes a mix of American folk hymns, a dash of patriotic songs, and a whole serving of the Beatles. Sit back and enjoy as we bring you Eleanor Rigby, Michelle and many other King Singers arrangements of Beatles standards. We will start with Grace and end with a rousing glory hallelujah.
