Barbie began composing when she was only three years old. She has performed as a soloist and in many musical groups as a vocalist, pianist, and flutist. She earned her bachelor of arts in music from Brigham Young University. She has arranged and created scores for several community theater productions. She is the musician/arranger for a children’s DVD series entitled Baby Songbird. She has also recently created her first CD of original compositions and hymn arrangements which can be purchased at her website: www.barbieelliott.com. Barbie was born completely blind. She believes that with the right attitude, trust and faith in the lord, and the support of loved ones that she can accomplish just about anything. She was recently elected to serve as president of the Weber/Davis chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Utah. Besides music she enjoys reading, crocheting, hiking, swimming, water skiing, ice and roller skating, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends. Barbie and her husband Walt have four children ranging from 17 to 6 years of age. They live here in Layton.
