The Ogden Concert Band is in its 17th year of providing concerts in a wide variety of venues under the direction of Dr. Thomas Root (head of the Weber State University band program) and associate director Dr. Darrell Lund. Band members include teachers, university graduates, students, and community members of all ages. New members are always needed!
The Ogden Concert Band performs at the Hill AFB Museum each year and at the Ogden Amphitheater on the first Monday of each summer month. They have played at the Utah Arts Festival and have been special performing guests at festivals in Hof, Germany (twice) and in Taiwan. They are also a mainstay on the Davis Arts Council’s Free Sunday Night Concert Series summer program.
Band repertoire includes traditional concert music by Copland, Gould, Bernstein, Williams, and Holst, along with favorite Sousa marches, patriotic songs, showtunes and movie scores.
