moon-light-the-oliverson-family-aMoon Light is the Oliverson family featuring seventeen-year-old Aubree Oliverson,
a state, national, and international violin competition winner, who first soloed with the
Utah Symphony at age eleven, and at Carnegie Hall at age twelve. Aubree has been
featured on National Public Radio’s From The Top four times, won Utah’s Best-of-State
award and Arts & Entertainment BOSS trophy as Utahʼs “Top Entertainer”, and received
two rousing standing ovations (one mid performance!) as she played the Tchaikovsky
Violin Concerto with the Utah Symphony at age thirteen during their All-Star Evening.
Aubree was Concertmaster for the Gifted Music School Orchestra of Salt Lake City for
two years, and at age fifteen was one of only 24 pre-college students throughout the
world invited to attend the Colburn Music Conservatory in Los Angeles—where she
currently studies, and is Concertmaster of the Colburn Virtuosi Orchestra. Most recently
Aubree was selected as a 2016 YoungArts National Winner in Violin Performance and is
a Presidential Scholar finalist. Aubree is a highly sought-after chamber musician
collaborating with artists such as Joseph Silverstein and Stefan jackiw. She has soloed
with a wide variety of music ensembles including the Utah Chamber Artists and the
Millennial Choir and Orchestra, and has been featured at the Innsbrook Institute of
Music in Missouri, the Aspen Summer Music Festival in Colorado, and The Music
Center in Los Angeles. Aubree has had recent solo performances with the Topanga
Symphony, San Fernando Orchestra, and Pasadena Symphony Orchestra, and she will
be traveling to Boston in May to perform at NPR’s year end gala. Aubree is also a state
and national award winning composer—recognized twice by the New York Arts
Ensemble as a “composer of great promise” and along with father has co-composed
and recorded six acclaimed CD albums.”
Dr. Stephen Oliverson is an award-winning pianist, and a Best-of-State composer
and producer. Besides Stephen’s many musical endeavors he was an all-state and
collegiate athlete, a decorated military officer, and an award-winning educator including
National Distinguished School Principal and Utah’s Huntsman Excellence-In-Education
Award winner. Stephen and Aubree’s acclaimed music has been featured on stage and
radio, and they have performed in hundreds of venues from Seattle to Washington D.C.
Moon Light has several beautifully produced music videos on their YouTube channel
(Moonlightperformers), three having reached the top ten on video music charts.
Stephen’s two youngest children, Andrew (14) and Lily (11) are also excellent
musicians and join their sister and father in many Moon Light productions. Andrew and
Lily have both won awards for composition and were both part of a select few from
South, Central, and North America chosen to participate in Suzuki Youth Orchestra of
the Americas in Minneapolis, 2014. Lily and Andrew are members of the Gifted Music
School of Salt Lake City, where Andrew has been a soloist and recently received a
superior rating at the Utah High School Association Music Festival. Locally, Moon Light
has performed at the Salt Palace, Gallivan Center, BYU Education Week, Temple
Square, Sundance Film Festival, Gardner Hall, and The Oliverson family has performed
in over 100 schools throughout the intermountain West, motivating and inspiring
children to work hard and participate in music. ”
