Mike Murphy has taught at Viewmont High School for 36 years. He developed a guitar program there that is one of the largest in the U.S. Mike began playing guitar when he was 12 years old and has performed in bands and as a solo performer throughout the West. He has recorded 5 albums of original songs.
The songs of singer-songwriter John Connors have been heard worldwide. He is an award-winning composer and lively performer whose songs display a strong sense of rhythm with memorable melody and lyrics, drawn from the pace of his daily life.
Jake White, formerly of Bountiful, is known for his unique guitar style. He uses different tunings as well as tapping and percussive work up over the top of the neck, a rare thing on an acoustic guitar. He has been a popular local area performer for several years.
Kat Tingey, an intensely compelling and gifted young performer has studied guitar since her teens. She has recorded 3 albums including the popular song, “Undone.” Her music displays haunting melodies and soulful lyrics. Cori Connors of Farmington weaves a pattern of warm reminiscence into each of her performances. She is an award winning songwriter of 5 albums and was featured on Radio Dublin and with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, performing throughout the UK. Connors’ music “touches a common chord shared by all of us.”
