Synkofa violinist/director Theresa Ellis is an innovative arranger of traditional and ancient songs, while guitarist/composer Eric McKenna adds original, unique music resulting in Celtic roots music with a gypsy jazz flair.
This instrumental quartet also features master upright bass soloist Stephen Wesson and Laina Reynolds playing a 300-year old French cello.
Synkofa transports listeners to the misty Irish Highlands, the hot jazz clubs of ’50s Paris, and other exotic times and places only to bring them back again to the present with eyes and ears wide open.
