The Davis County Symphony was formed in 2009 by Marie Crockett to fulfill the needs of community members desiring to play in a local orchestra. The symphony performs several concerts a year, including an annual Messiah sing-in. They have also performed for legislative events, Arts in the Park series, civic events throughout Davis County, and several times for the Davis Arts Council’s Free Sunday Night Concert Series.
The orchestra is currently under the direction of Marie Crockett, Conductor and Musical Director, with Jeremy Johnson as Assistant Director. The group is composed of members as young as 15 years old. They focus on music of all styles and levels to help each musician improve his or her musical skills.
This year’s concert includes works by Gershwin and Cole Porter as well as music from Titanic and James Bond.
