Join us for the inaugural We the People Multicultural Arts Festival on August 29, 2026, from noon to 8 p.m. in Layton Commons Park. The free festival celebrates the many cultures, traditions, and stories that enrich Davis County through music, dance, theater, visual arts, food, and community engagement.

The day-long event will feature live performances by local artists on the Kenley Amphitheater stage, interactive workshops led by performers and local teaching artists, cultural and visual art demonstrations, artisan and food vendors, family-friendly activities, and more.

Designed for all ages, the festival invites residents and visitors alike to experience the arts as a bridge between cultures, generations, and communities. Through music, dance, theater, visual art, and food, attendees are encouraged to experience new traditions, share their own stories, build lasting connections with neighbors, and discover the common values that unite the community.

Booth Application

Our mission is to enrich and strengthen our community through the power of the arts – and We the People creates opportunities for neighbors to share the cultures, traditions, stories, and contributions of the many communities that call Davis County home.  We expect the booths at our festival to uphold this mission and by sharing their rich heritage and allowing guests to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, and re-discover the common values that unite us.

Booth categories are as follows:

  • Cultural/Community Non-Profit
  • Arts Non-Profit
  • Food Truck
  • Retail or Service Vendor
  • Artist/Artisan/Craftperson

Fees for all booths, including food trucks, start at $150. Discounts may be applied for non-profits, booth affiliated with performing groups or workshop presenters, free giveaways or activities, or demonstrated need.

Booths will either be located in the Snow Horse Gallery Row, where artists, artisans and, craftspeople will exhibit their fine art and fine crafts, or in the Cultural Commons, where local organizations, cultural groups, and community voices will share the traditions, stories, and experiences that enrich Davis County.

Workshop Presenters

For the Arts and Traditions Workshops, Davis Arts Council is seeking hands-on, interactive experiences that engage festival-goers of all ages. Workshops should provide participants with the opportunity to actively create, learn, or explore, leaving with a new skill, meaningful insight, or tangible keepsake, no matter how small or simple.
 
While participation in the workshops will be free of charge, workshop presenters will be compensated and, if needed, provided a small materials budget.
 
Please review the following workshop requirements:
  • Each workshop must require a maximum of 60 minutes total, including setup and cleanup
  • Each workshop must be able to accommodate at least 20 participants
  • Minimal setup and cleanup in terms of equipment and materials is ideal in order to offer as many workshops as possible for the duration of the festival
  • We ask all workshop presenters to design sessions that are accessible to the broadest possible audience, incorporating the principles of universal design by offering multiple ways to participate, communicate, and engage with your content
  • All workshops must be able to executed outdoors (shaded) on concrete.

While invitations for all available 2026 performance slots have already been sent, we encourage groups to submit an interest form in case of any openings, and to be contacted for future opportunities with the Davis Arts Council, including the 2027 festival.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The festival was inspired by a simple truth: the diversity that enriches the community is not something found somewhere else – it is found within Davis County.

In recognition of the America250 commemoration, the festival’s name, We the People, reflects the promise of an ever-expanding American story. Over time, the meaning of that “We” has grown to include more voices, experiences, and perspectives, making these words a fitting symbol for a celebration of community and culture.

For many years, Davis Arts Council has envisioned creating a multicultural arts festival that celebrates the people and traditions of Davis County. With support from Layton City’s R.A.M.P. (Recreation, Arts, Museums, and Parks) program, that vision is becoming a reality.
