The Lars Yorgason Singers is a large vocal ensemble that performs ambitious arrangements of jazz standards packed with lush harmonies, dare-devil improvisation, and silky soloing. The group is accompanied by some of Utah’s finest musicians: Lars Yorgason on Bass, Doug James on drums, Mike Christiansen on guitar, and Bob Bunce on piano. A unique Utah treasure, the Lars Yorgason Singers leaves audiences teeming with rhythm and bursting with melody!
The Ogden-based vocal jazz ensemble is molded in the tradition of outstanding vocal groups like Singers Unlimited, The Swingle Singers, and The Four Freshmen. The individuals in this mixed-voice group have recorded professionally and have performed at national and international festivals, concerts, and events. Together since 2017 they have energized audiences all across the Wasatch Front, including Peery’s Egyptian Theater, The Tabernacle at Temple Square, the Gallivan Center, Union Station and more. The ensemble is led by first-call bassist, Lars Yorgason, who also writes and plays bass for the group. They are backed by some of the industry’s best: Doug James on drums, Mike Christiansen on guitar, and Bob Bunce on piano, all who have major credits of their own.
